S J Atkins is a family-run partnership operated by Scott Atkins and his niece Michelle Atkins. Scott runs the mechanical side, whereas Michelle focuses on the admin.
Scott started working on vehicles during school holidays, helping his father at the local family garage. From there, he left school to become a fully qualified motor mechanic and eventually becoming an MOT tester at a Rolls Royce Mercedes and Jaguar dealership. After this, he moved around different garages building his knowledge and experience on services, repairs, and MOTs for vehicles. Scott has always had a passion for motorbikes and has restored many in the past. He now wants to bring this passion to his new venture.
In 2020 Scott's mother became ill and needed care, so Scott retired early to support her. Sadly, his mother passed away at the beginning of 2022 and Scott decided he wanted to work for himself. He approached his niece, Michelle, with the offer of starting a partnership.
Michelle gained ample experience during her three-year long degree and found herself in an admin role. In 2021, Michelle became a mother and after deciding to go back to work, Scott proposed his business plan.
Now, Scott and Michelle work hard to put the focus on customer care to ensure everyone experiences a value for money and receives quality service.
